Well, what do ya know? Another month has gone by since my last post. Amanda is on her last couple of days of fall intersession. School starts back on Monday. We've had so much fun together! Zach's been in preschool the whole time, so she and I have had some girl time. Last night, Amanda had her first violin lesson! This will be a learning experience for both of us since I know nothing about stringed instruments. I've always been strictly woodwinds! I will be sure to keep you all updated on her progress. Bye for now.

And the "Worst Blogger" Award goes to...

Yes, it's me! Good grief. I just read one of Erin's posts saying she's the worst after 3 months. Well, honey, I've got you beat!!! I guess I really haven't had anything that I've felt is earth-shattering to blog about. Not that there is now, but I've started facebooking, and I just felt I needed to let my faithful blogger friends know that I'm still alive. Amanda's started First Grade, Zach has turned 4 and is another year closer to kindergarten! And of all times to start writing again...when I should be in bed! I think to myself, "well, this is going to last!" Well, it is off to bed for me, and I hope to not have another 4 month hiatus!

Darn Birds

I caught this Blue bird siting on the mirror of our car. Making a mess on the side of the car!!!! but apparently blue birds are very protective of there nest area. He would fly up to the mirror and attack he reflection then just sit on the mirror for alittle while and go back and do the same thing again all the while making a HUGE mess on the car I did not know that blue birds had that much in them!!!

The next pro baseball player

Orange County has a thing called Start Smart baseball which teach kids 3-5 years old the fundamentals of Baseball hitting, running throwing and catching. Zach did very well hitting throwing and running however he is very anti glove he would not were the glove ( I need to work on that!!) Enjoy the pic

He is Risen!!

OK. So, I know it's been almost a month since I last posted. I figure I'd better write something before I get any grief!!
I hope everyone had a great Easter. We certainly did! Pennsylvania was cold, but it was beautiful! It was so good to see family after so long.

Easter Sunday

Zach, Amanda, and my best friend's daughter, Mary

Let's not forget the real reason for Easter: Jesus! I couldn't help but sing the words to one of my favorite choir songs all day. I think these words sum it up nicely:

Alive! Alive! Alive! Hallelujah!

Alive! Praise and Glory to the Lamb!

Alive! Alive! Alive! Hallelujah!

Alive! Forever, Amen!

Amazing Testimony

On Sunday, March 9th, our friend, Susan, and her family visited our church, and Susan gave her testimony of God's faithfulness through her sickness and healing. Please take some time to visit her website to track her progress. Unfortunately, the video I took that I was hoping to post here is too big. If anyone wants, I could make a DVD of it. It's about 7 min. long, but everyone should see it.

Awards Week

Today was Awards' Day at Hillsborough Elementary. Manda was selected to receive a Terrific Kid Award from the Kiwanis Club. We're so proud!

Tuesday night was Manda's Upward Awards Celebration. For those of you who don't know, Manda played basketball this year. Upward is a Christian sports organization. Very cool!

I need to do one of those 'picture rewind' thingies, or whatever you call those blogs! So many pictures, so little time! Until next time...

Valle Crucis, NC

This past weekend, some of the gals from my Sunday School class went on a retreat to the mountains. We stayed at our teacher's parents' house in Valle Crucis. It was absolutely breathtaking! It was the perfect place to worship and praise our Lord and to fellowship with one another. Here are some pictures:

This is the house from the front.

This is the river behind the house.

This is a picture of the valley from the Mast Store which, by the way, was very cool!

Brownies...Yummmm!

We had a hankerin' for some brownies a couple of weeks ago. We decided to make some from scratch!

Can you tell if they were a success???

Well, I guess it's about time I post something. It's only been a month and a half!! Sadly, there's just nothing exciting to report. Manda has had 2 field trips since my last post: one to the Hillsborough fire station, and the other to a farm. We walked to the fire station, but the farm trip was her first bus ride. Unfortunately, I couldn't go with her, but she had a blast. She came home with a pumpkin in her backpack! Zach is loving preschool. He brought home his first craft yesterday. They usually don't do many crafts in that class, so that was a special treat for both of us! Work at Cato is going well. I've enjoyed it much more than I expected. Sadly, I don't get to tuck the kids into bed most nights, because I work until 9:30. That a bit rough for me and Manda; Zach pretty much just goes with the flow! Well, hopefully it won't be another month before my next post. Until then...

Manda's trip to the library

outside the library

out on the playground

still here...

I know it's been quite awhile since my last post. Told you we're not that exciting! Manda's first 9 weeks of Kindergarten are already coming to a close. Can you believe it?? We had our first parent/teacher conference this week. We are so proud of her. She is doing GREAT!! Yesterday she went on her first field trip. We walked to the Orange County public library. It was fun. We had a picnic lunch on the playground afterward. It was very hot, though. I had to carry Zach the entire way back to school. That was definitely not fun. Oh, yeah...the school was uphill from the library. That figures! But, all in all, it was a lot of fun.

I start working this week. I already have a store meeting tomorrow and my schedule for the rest of the week. In case you didn't know, I've started working for Cato Fashions. To y'all up north, it's basically like Fashion Bug. Anyway, there is a brand new store opening in our Wal-Mart shopping center in Hillsborough. I think it will be pretty neat. Sure beats Giant Eagle!!! (For y'all down here, that's a grocery store I worked at in PA.) So, life's going to get really busy, now. Here we go...

Birthday Cake...Take 2

John's birthday was on Monday, so I had another chance at a cake. This one turned out a bit better.

In case you didn't know, John graduated from Penn State. This was my first attempt at the logo. It should look like this...

I think he liked it. Oh, and don't bother to count the candles...the kids and I just stuck a bunch on there so he had some to blow out. (He's 32!)

The Cake

O.K. I had to post a pic of Zach's cake. John keeps saying it's a Thomas cake. I guess if you really use your imagination... Yikes!!!! Oh, well. At least Zachy liked it and it tasted good!
